new 5.0 is a complete monster

i found this on a mustang forum...this will give you and idea of how much of a monster the new 5.0 coyote motor is...straight crazzy in my opinion.

I love that motor. Independent variable valve timing for each cam, not just both like vtec. It's amazing what ford can do and they, unlike chevy, GET IT. What better than throwback styling with modern day power.

wheather the Fords 5.0 is better or faster than the Chevys 6.2 im still a chevy person by heart, i do like mustangs i just like camaros better

Problem heren lies that chevy is starting to look like dodge. Throwing a huge motor at a car just to make good numbers. If the ls1 had dual cam and variable valve timing capabilities, well then it'd be on

the new camaros have better low end torque than the new 5.0 but is still no match for the new 5.0,....no if they put that camaro on a diet then yes it would be quicker i believe

see here is the problem though... ford has to do the ivvt and supercharge there motor just to make the numbers like the na none vvt v8 camaro. and lets see if the v6 mustang can compete actually lets see if the 05 v8 can compete with the v6 camaro... i dont think so. i like the new mustang just not the looks and the amount of braggn... the new camaro does way a bit but it looks sexy and the power is sweet. chevy couldnt care about the vvt thats y they didnt do it. u watch here soon there will be a problem with the stang motors due to that new improvement... they are still sweet though. but stang has been around forever u mst admit for a comeback the camaro is the sickest comeback around right now...

now i want to see the new firebird... maybe they will do some vvt on that bitch....

im talking about the new 5.0 litre not the 4.6...the new 5.0 can brag all they want...12.35 completly stock is something to be proud of

this is rly the first time ford has gotten it right with a N/A motor off show room....and so far they are running low 10's on stock everything besides throwing on a supercharger..so if nothing has completly fucked up with that kinda power im not sure they will..haha i guess this is one of those topics that can go back and forth all day...

yeah i was just sayn price to price and model to model ford got it in the v8s but they didnt in the pricing man...

they are not bad in pricing at all...they start out at 28K...the camaros dont go for that...or at least i dont think...now the shelbys are rediculous in the price yes.

yeah the camaro starts out at 20's too but the 5.0's that I looked at started at almost 10k more than the camaros. unless you get like the all out package... but all u need is a basic ss v8 camaro...

Check out the hennessey camaros they are like 70k haha thats stupid pricing...

or the 727hp martin limited edition... its like 71k haha...

the specs say they are only maken 400hp... and they are close to the same price... automatic mustang beat the automatic camaro in a drag... I wonder if it would be the same in a manual race... and also that was a 2011 mustang vs 2010 camaro...

camaro gets 422 hp with the manual... and only 400 with the auto...the camaro torque is 408 and the 2011 has an upgraded suspension... for d keeps competing there 2011 with chevys 2010 but the 2011 is better than there 2010... it has a sportier suspension 4 piston brembo breaks and stabiliTrak...and the camaro beat the bmw at Nurburgring at a sweet 8 min and 20 seconds... the bmw ran it in 8 min and 22 seconds... and it gets 23mpg... and the sticker price is 30k and the stang was 36k

yes the manual mustang beats the chevy. And yes it handles better. Mustangs have always had the edge when it comes to handling. Hell even the new challenger outhandles the camaro

i know this is a year ols forum but i gotta put my input in lol. if the chevy doesnt run as good as ford does, then how come my dad's 02 z28 and his 01 z28 both stock (and the 01 with just a tire) was beeting the new 5.0's and our neighbors mach 1 that has exhuast k&n airfitler an a tune? i mean maybe it's just my dad had factory freaks or people just don't know how to drive there ls1 cars haha

98gtawd - Are you talking about in a drag race? Maynard was talking about handling, not straight line performance..

Also, the new 5.0 wasn't put into the mustangs until the 2011 model year GTs. Between 1996-2011 it was a 4.6L 2-valve (SOHC) or 4-valve (DOHC).

The Coyote 5.0 is an absolute beast, doesn't take much from what I've heard to get them to lay down some major power.
