Hypothetical races with equal hp, maybe rotary having little less:
Dig STI since rotaries have no torque but will be comming up quick
Roll Rotary by a lot

If this car gets put together correctly and has no wiring issues, it's going to be a beast. Motor with more potential in a lighter car and the fcs tend to hook a wee bit better for some odd reason. Plus, here is another thing to consider-revs. Just because you can rev higher doesn't mean you make more power, however, rotaries are 9k rpm screamers and have some of the best top end of any car out there once set up right. Sti will be shifting at 7kish, while the rotary better be shifting at 9. That's 2000 extra rpms to go, not to mention being able to hold the car in gear longer which translates to less shifting and being able to stay in the powerband longer. This isn't always true with say a cable b16 trans, but it holds its own when it comes to rotaries.

Take a ride in a 400rwhp rx7 and you will begin voiding your bowls all the way from 5k to 9k. The pull is ridiculous

On a built & balanced bottom end with a tranny built to shift that high. Ever seen a rotary wrap out to 11k? sounds like a mini f1 car

That's all I needed. Ive got a good guestimate of what this car runs based on what peeps have said. Jason's wrx with an evoIII 16g ran 12.6s on a good tune. He stepped up to a 20g and is getting it tuned soon. With that 16g it still got down pretty well

alfrado was in the 12's with a shitty tune...we talked to him about 3 months ago and he said he is tuned with some other stuff now and if he doesnt hit low 11's hes goona be pissed

Never said they couldn't-I said I HIGHLY doubt it. Reason I ask is because the stock turbo on an STi is on 20+ psi from the factory, so just simple bolt-on's and a tune won't get you into low 11s. Not a snowball's chance in hell. The fastest stock VF39 turbo car runs 11.7s at around 113 and that car has a lot of work into it. I'm not hating, I just am skeptical that is all. I know about what they are capable of-I almost bought an aspen white STi. Then I realized the mitsu gods would strike me down for forsaking them

agreed with thomas.....and alfrado even autocross's his car...there are some pretty nasty cars in cville..off of the top of myh head there is alfrado...a dude with a 50trim srt 4. a HIGH horsepower right hand drive honda hatch like 800 or something like that if i remember..dont knwo if the dude still has it or not..a vr4 with bigger turbos and if neone knows cars they know a vr4 with a bigger turbo upgrade is a mean car

It also helps that Alfredo knows how to drive.
