RP has a Del Sol now? And what did Cooper get again? Damn it has been awhile since I have been there. Maybe I will go see them this weekend.

What happend to the guy that had the H22 Del Sol?

cooper has a rsx type s and boosted it but due to a tune blew so now he is putting in a k24
rp has the crx and also has a slammed red h22 del sol on spray

I havn't seen anyone do an LS/Vtec swap in a while either.

Dude you were there when rps del sol was there. It may have been in the shop though. Coopers car is toast. The motor was already on its last leg, but Ill Garage's shitty ass tune didn't help much either. Rp has the h22 del sol. It's H2B meaning h22 motor short ass b16 tranny. It's in pieces right now because he's got a head thats being built with skunk2 cams/valvetrain. Basically same setup as my old h22. Actually it is my old h22 that is in RP's car.

Damn I was there, I remember it now. I still need to go see them though. I am getting new tires put on my 20's Saturday so I think I will stop buy there and see what's up.

So no cam I forgot I had cash in savings lol. Sellin my tv so that'll help then like 2 paychecks and I'll se about the ls2. I'm almost scared to do it I've never done a build let alone one that makes 400 ponies and is matched to a 6spd. I hope that I can do this. I know it can be done I've seen the Dyno vids after it's done it's F'n sick.

There's two ls/vtec cars up here. Blue oldskool integra with b18b bottom end and a built b16 head but the car runs like ass at the moment and has no compression. Doug's four door integra has an ls/vtec as well. Personally I'm not a fan of ls/vtec. Rod/stroke ratio is horrible. You're putting a head on a block not meant to rev past 7k. With a bottom end that cant rev high you put a lot of stress on the cylinder walls under load. Ls/vtec is only good for about 30k miles. It's good setup, but it's more like a race motor that will pop soon. Same idea goes with k24 bottom/k20 head. My four door is getting either h2b next summer or just doing a k24 out of a crv with k20 type r pistons and a built head.

i wish i had a clue about honda lol, then i would understand what you guys are talking about

yeah the general consensus is that hondas are relatively easy to build. I haven't really done much research yet with them so I just nod my head and say ok when someone talks about hondas.

B Series:
B16a1: dohc vtec from 99-00 civic
b18a1: dohc non vtec from integra 90-93
b17a1: dohc vtec from integra gsr 93 (rare)
b18c1: dohc vtec from integra gsr 94-01
b18c5: dohc from integra type r

H Series:
h22a1: dohc jdm engine from accord and in usdm preludes
h22a4: dohc vtec from late model preludes
h23a1: dohc non vtec from base model preludes

K Series
k20a1: Civic si motor dohc vtec and base rsx (hatch models)
k20a2: DOHC vtec from rsx type s
k20z3: dohc vtec from 06-up civic si
k20a3: integra type r dohc vtec jdm only

k24a2: dohc vtec tsx motor

That's what I can think of off the top of my head. some may not be correct but its a general idea.

For example, k24 bottom end for a 2.4l displacement with a k20 head that flows better

hell yea they do..hahah honda is actually a smart company..they have thier hand in almost everything

You may also hear people talk about the ZC motors, they are basically a japanese D-series motor.

You may also hear someone talk about the F-series which I have never seen anything done special to these motors.

Honda motors are no joke, Matts camaro about got beat by a Honda CRX with a stock B16 Swap.

zc motors are a cheap d series replacement. F series are the big brother of the d series. 2.2.l of displacement and the bottom ends are pretry stout from the factory. They love boost. Now you can do f2d which is f aeries motor d series trans. A lot better since d series trannys are a dime a dozen and are linkage inatead of cable

hondas are so light that why people go with them...hell a hatch with an H2B swap will make V8s sweat..and with head work bye bye big V8

Gosh all this talk of Honda motors makes me want one again, maybe get rid of the Lexus if I can find an Integra GSR/Type R in good shape.

my buddy just picked one up for 1500 bones and it runs amazing. Body needs some love though


And I'm the only one in the honda crew so far. The four door isn't nothing special.......yet. I really want to do h2b
