1999 Ford Ranger

Maybe some of you have seen me going through Veedersburg or Covington, I met up with Nick on Saturday night so he got a good look of this, but the secret is out, I have a new vehicle!

I picked this vehicle up on Friday evening in the Brownsburg Wal-Mart parking lot from a guy named Alex who built it up and just wanted to get back into a stock vehicle, so I traded straight up plus $250.00. On the way home, part of the exhaust fell off so I had to get that fixed on Saturday morning after titling / registering the vehicle. Overall, I'm fairly happy with the trade, it's been plenty of fun so far and hope to continue having fun with this truck after getting a few little things fixed!









Hmm... Almost looks like a factory 2.5L engine, but something doesn't look right here...

Oh right, a turbocharger! Yep, I'm hella boosted now, and it's a blast to drive!




Runs on 14psi of boost with a t3/t4 hybrid turbo... It's soo addicting!

Thats fucking sick. When i talked to you i figurrd a lifted ranger or something. So is that the 4cly thunderbird turbo motor

No ...thats A 2.5l Ford ranger Motor with Forged Internals, weisco pistons Crower Rods, Turbo, Methanol, Intercooler, and Sct Tune!

I do wanna say..WHERED THE HURST SHIFTER GO?

He decided to keep it because he just bought it recently for retail price... I'll work on finding one for cheap, the hurst would definitely make driving it so much more exciting than it already is!


Also, I ran into a GMC Syclone on the road today going to White Castle for dinner... I played around with him for a bit right before White Castle, then he romped on it and the back end squatted down.. So I followed him into the Meijer parking lot to check out his truck... He swapped out the turbo 4.3 for an LS6... WITH the AWD still... ridiculous! He thought I was one of his buddies til I pulled in, but he was shocked to see the turbo in the Ranger.. Needless to say he was impressed.

This truck is an attention whore!


P.S. -- methanol? he didn't have the methanol injection kit hooked up, and he told me that he was gonna keep that.

ah well....was going By what I knew...from Chris and Alex Before you got the truck!
Methanol will be about the only way u can crank the boost up more safely!

The Methanol kit Was on it..at the meet..so he must have removed it ...!

That syclone is nasty to say the least. And i went to white catslearound five today. i wanted to see it in person

14 psi is good enough for me right now anyway... It's a ridiculous amount of power for a Ranger once that boost kicks in.. Aha

BTW, Maynard, we need to do some runs around Lafayette at night sometime .

the truck is bad ass, ive never seen a turboed ranger and its awsome, i cant wait to see it complete and boost turned up

you need a shirt that says "Got Traction?" on the front and on the back it should say "I Don't "

Since these POS ebay headers are basically pointless to try to repair, I'm going ahead and ordering newer, heavier duty headers from 40bob.com, so I should be rolling nice and strong within a few weeks! That'll knock the biggest thing off my things to do list and also burn a huge hole in my pocket. Whatever, though. As long as I don't have to worry about my stuff falling off, right? aha

do you know about how much hp you're pushing, I might have a race for you here in a bit. I'll be driving the car even though its not mine.

What car is it?

2006 cobalt ss supercharged 5 speed. Gotta tweek with it a little bit first though.

Tweak with it? Doesn't sound completely factory..

Also: Finally got a dome light today... Pimp!

for the most part it is. Not pushing as much boost as it should be though. I think the boost bypass acuator needs replaced. Only pushing 4psi when it should be pushing 12.5psi

Ahh alright, we might have to play around then aha... Who owns it, do I know em?

my sister just bought it. She'll probably need an upgrade or two to keep up with depend on how much horsepower you're pushing.
